won the race but lost your mind

right. day 2 of MINDS was sobering. not that i was particularly drunk to begin with.

rather than go through all the stuff i did (or didn't do actually), just a few points. MINDS has the most patient workers ever. really. well, quite expected, but hardly something to be taken for granted and amazing when witnessed. though i am quite surprised that many of their staff treat their jobs as well, just another job. cos that's basically what they said when i asked.

some of the MINDS clients (i quite dislike that word though) look really normal. not to sound like a prejudiced little shit, but many would assume that intellectual disability is rather apparent, but that's not the case. one of the clients i met was the splitting image of one of my photog juniors, and it wasn't until she spoke when i realised that she wasn't just a volunteer. makes you wonder why there is so much stigma surrounding the whole issue when they are really just unfortunate normal people.

i will make the worst social worker ever. cos i'm neither patient nor nice. but i think i already know that already.

so what's the conclusion. well if there is one, idealistic me (the one that usually just bums around on his ass while cynical me run rampant) wants to do more. it's like one of those things, where you feel like you should grab something in front of you and shake it real hard, but then you're not sure whether that's what you really want to do. and i do have something in mind i want to do, just that it's too insane to ever succeed. or too insane to not succeed. one of the two really. which makes whether to proceed a rather hard decision to make no?

oh, and yifan gets the honour of being first to be linked! well like anyone really cares. but if you want to be linked, then tag with your url. or not. whatever.
