no i'm not going to kill myself. you see, i was struck by inspiration during my visit to MINDS, and seriously i've been charging up for one final hurrah before i left the country anyways, and instead of spending a month running around taking hobbyist level photographs of things that will likely disappear by the time i return, i figure that i'd instead like to spend that time running around filming a digital short film that i will no doubt find utterly shit 2 years down the road.
now the twist in the tale of course is that it will all be for a good cause. it might seem entirely shallow given my interaction with the organisation has been a grand 2 days, but the whole film will be a veiled attempt at publicity for MINDS. seriously, it's about time i atoned for my sins (karma karma karma!) and for once i'll be doing something i'm not completely (just mostly) clueless about for CIP. i'm really guilty for the nothing i've been doing at MINDS, and this would i hope make up for it. yes it is also a real self glorifying project of faux art, but please keep that idea out of your heads.
long story medium (i think we left short a paragraph ago), i need help! and since i know more than 1 person reads this, i'll start here.
people i need:
scriptwriter who is not shit. emphasis on not shit. okay, not the best way to recruit, but seriously, anyone who has any interest in writing and feels he/she is up to it please help. most importantly, i need someone who can write good dialogue, cos i'm very very shit with that and i can help fill out the rest a bit.
people who are good with DV cams. well, i'll take competent. i'll even take "has read instructional manual". someone with steady hands will be a plus.
collaborator. unfortunately, it has to be someone i'm comfortable with. so i guess i will find this myself.
actors!!!!!!! i need a male lead and a female lead, and unfortunately, the female lead has to look somewhat decent. not to be shallow, but it will really help to suspend the incredible amount of disbelief that will be there. i will probably need a whole bunch of other supporting cast too, but it's all up in the air till the script is done.
most importantly, i need one incredibly resilient, politically conscious, enthusiastic, civic-minded individual who can really be the spokesperson for the whole thing and help get the important people on board. someone who can speak for the project while i slink off in the background like your average socially awkward insane guy.
people who will be nice to have onboard:
someone incredibly rich or has access to various misc. things.
someone who can compose music so that copyright won't become a big problem if we intend to show it anywhere.
