to get this out of the way: i just saw david st. hubbins. more accurately, i saw michael mckean, who plays david st. hubbins, in a stage play. david st. hubbins from spinal tap. i'm quite delighted.
also, they played wilco's 'nothing'severgonnastandinmyway(again)' for the curtain call (a wilco song for a play about chicago - how fitting!), and i just realized the lyrics to that song contains those two amazing lines that gave the title to this post. they capture everything perfectly.
