having slept for 10 hour stretch and woken up with absolutely nothing to do and not even the desire to venture out to look for some kind of sustenance, it's time to erm, write something?
the internet is really an odd form of entertainment. considering how much time i spend online, it's amazing how little coherance there is in anything i read or view. in think much of it has to do with the interactivity of it all, the fact that from any one place on the internet (the idea of a place online is already dubious) you could go on to another simply prevents any kind of structure to it all. i've said this before, but i really do believe that the internet is nothing more than an avenue for people to seek out others that have the same mentality as they do. i mean, apart from wikipedia and it's ability to rescue us from informational faux pas and/or boredom at work, the internet is just one huge rant-fest. like this. this is a rant-fest. but the reason why people continue to read blogs (and let's face it, the word "blog" came about not due to some new phenomenon but as a convenient descriptor of something that has existed since the dawn of the net) and visit community sites like myspace (which i have never visited actually....) is to find people who can affirm their own opinions.
but then we all fall into a trap of taking someone else's ideas for our own.
