packing packing packing. somehow i'm glad now i'm not staying this summer. much too many things left just lying about outside, and the apartment just feels so much smaller. i've been pampered by too much space i suppose.
i didn't realise how much books on the shelves have been helping me sleep. now that even the last few perfunctory photo frames have been taken off, leaving a not-so-strategically-placed compartment full of dvds and nothing else, the sunlight comes straight at me. and since i went to sleep at 4, it didn't help that the sun was up by the time i stopped dreaming. adjusting back to singapore time very nicely now. only problem is that i have to stay awake and check in, get past security and not miss my flight falling asleep at the gate. the excitement of going home should provide that final jolt.
somehow, i just realised a long flight seems appropriate. it's been a long way. plenty of time to think about how much i've changed, how much i've gained or lost. to think about people i've met and people i'm going home to. but mostly to rest. once you get on that plane and the doors close, you're only choice is chicken or fish. i like that kind of choices.
time to turn down the air-conditioning. gotta get used to the heat as well.
